Two Simsbury Roads Reopen After Tree Fell: UPDATE

The roadways were closed for much of the day Tuesday.

SIMSBURY, CT — Portions of two local roads were closed for much of the day Tuesday due to a downed tree, utility poles, and wires.

They have since reopened, local police said.

According to the Simsbury Police Department, the situation — first reported Tuesday morning — impacted sections of Powder Horn Drive and Squadron Line Road.

"Utility crews and emergency personnel are currently on site," wrote the SPD Tuesday morning.

Powder Horn Drive was closed to traffic from Ox Yoke Drive to Squadron Line Road.

Meanwhile, Squadron Line Road was closed between Weatherly Road and Gretal Lane.

By later in the afternoon, however, police said the necessary repairs were made and the road reopened.
