Vandals Damage Simsbury Golf Course In Unusual Manner
The Simsbury Culture, Parks & Recreation Department is looking for the scofflaws responsible for a weekend incident at Simsbury Farms.

SIMSBURY, CT — A town-owned golf course was damaged last weekend due to the actions of creative, but no less damaging, vandals.
The Simsbury Culture, Parks & Recreation Department on Tuesday said the ninth green at the Simsbury Farms Golf Course, 100 Old Farms Road, was damaged by "summer sledding."
Town officials speculated that the scofflaws, during the overnight hours, applied "some kind of lubricant, possibly vegetable oil, with hopes of being successful in this endeavor."

"While we applaud the effort to get outside and have fun, this was not an appropriate or safe use of the facility, and these individuals, we believe, unintentionally caused damage to the course," wrote the local rec department.
"If you know who may be responsible, please let us know, and we will follow up with them."
