WEATHER UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For the Area
The severe weather could include frequent lightning the National Weather Service writes.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Severe Thunderstorm Watch” for Hartford and Tolland counties until 11 p.m.
Showers and thunderstorms are predicted and some of the storms could produce heavy rain and frequent lightning, the weather service writes.
Winds could gust up to 25 mph and a quick half inch of rain is possible.

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Darren Sweeney wrote on Facebook Sunday evening that “BIG storms firing just to our north heading south .. Gotta stay tuned. HUGE hail up north and big winds.”
