The Citizens' Election Program is a voluntary program designed to promote clean elections and reduce the influence of special interests in Connecticut politics. By participating in the program, candidates demonstrate their commitment to transparency and ethical campaigning, relying solely on donations from individual supporters.

To qualify for the grant, Jensen successfully raised $5,800 from at least 150 residents within his district. This achievement highlights the strong local support for his platform and his dedication to representing the interests of the 131st District. The grant provides Jensen with strong support for his campaign for the general election on Nov. 5.

"I am honored to have earned the trust and support of so many individuals in our community," said Jensen. "This grant will enable us to run a campaign focused on the issues that matter most to the people of Oxford, Naugatuck and Southbury – bringing down our energy bills, increasing public safety and maintaining local control of our zoning. I look forward to engaging with residents as I make my way across the 131st District and beyond as we bring our campaign to Hartford."

The CEP plays a crucial role in Connecticut’s electoral process by leveling the playing field for candidates and ensuring that elections are determined by voters, not special interests. Jensen's participation in the program reflects his commitment to these principles and his determination to serve as an independent voice constituents want.

As the general election approaches, Jensen’s campaign will focus on engaging with voters across the district, addressing key issues such as economic growth, education, and public safety. With the support of the CEP grant, Jensen is well positioned to carry his message to every corner of the 131st District and build on the momentum that has propelled his campaign so far.
