'Busy Morning' For Southbury Emergency Crews
A kitchen fire and an extrication following a multi-car crash kept the Southbury Fire Department hopping Monday morning.
SOUTHBURY, CT — Southbury emergency crews had what they described on social media as a "busy morning" Monday.
Shortly after 8 a.m., the Southbury Fire Department were called for a stove fire. First responders found the homeowner had extinguished the fire before their arrival, using a fire extinguisher. Crews checked the surrounding area for any additional small fires, and ventilated the home.
An hour later, firefighters were dispatched for a two car motor vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Quaker Farms Road and Southford Road. Crews had to remove the driver side doors and center post to free the passenger, who was taken to a hospital.
