Coronavirus Test Kit Distribution Postponed In Southbury
The town — and most of Connecticut — has not yet received the kits from the federal government.

SOUTHBURY, CT — The distribution of coronavirus test kits scheduled for Thursday in Southbury has been postponed, officials announced. A makeup date has not yet been determined.
"The Southbury Emergency Management team was notified early this morning by State Officials that the shipment of COVID-19 at home kits have yet to arrive in the State of Connecticut," officials wrote in a statement. "Unfortunately, that means the Southbury distribution event that was scheduled for Thursday afternoon must be postponed until the kits arrive and Southbury officials can take delivery. We will update the Town of Southbury website at www.southbury-ct.org and send an email with a new date and time as soon as we have the kits.
"Please be patient and understand that these delays are outside of our control."

The postponement is due to a hold up in the shipping process, according to Gov. Ned Lamont.
"Due to shipping and warehouse delays outside of the State of Connecticut's control, our state's anticipated shipment of COVID-19 at-home rapid tests are currently delayed from arriving in Connecticut," Lamont said in a statement Wednesday evening. "My staff and multiple state agencies have spent the past several days working around the clock to accelerate the movement of our tests through what is clearly a shipping and distribution bottleneck on the West Coast amid unprecedented international demand for tests."
