CT Medical Board Considers Fining Former Southbury Vein Doctor
The board met this week to consider disciplinary action, according to Connecticut Health I-Team.
SOUTHBURY, CT — The Connecticut Medical Examining Board disciplined four doctors around the state on Tuesday, and considered fining a doctor who has worked at vein clinics in Southbury and Greenwich, according to Connecticut Health I-Team.
The board disagreed with the low fine, so they voted 11-6 to reject a consent order that would have fined Dr. Desiree Clark, of West Palm Beach, Fla., $2,500 for performing "an excessive number of procedures on a patient and misclassifying the severity of the patient’s vein disease," CT Health I-Team reported, noting that Clarke's case will go back to the Department of Health.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Clarke describes herself as a "venous and lymphatic medicine specialist." She worked as a phlebologist for Vein Clinics Of America from 2010 to 2020, and had an office on Main Street South in Southbury, according to WebMD, a medical website.
