Falling Tree Limb Shatters Windshield, Injures Motorist In Southbury

A rental truck driver was injured after a falling tree limb shattered their windshield.

First responders to Strongtown Road​ in the area of Vista View Drive in Southbury found a Ryder box truck with a tree limb through the windshield and shattered glass scattered throughout the front seat space.

SOUTHBURY, CT — A motorist was injured after a falling tree limb shattered their windshield.

The Southbury Police Department dispatched officers at around 3 p.m. Friday to Strongtown Road in the area of Vista View Drive on the report of the mishap.

First responders found a Ryder box truck with a tree limb through the windshield and shattered glass scattered throughout the front seat space.

The motorist had self-extricated before officers arrived, and was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to police.
