Animal control officials are advising residents of a bear sighting in Southbury.
SOUTHBURY, CT — The Southbury Animal Control is advising residents of a bear sighting in town.
Officials said in a post on Facebook that “we are aware of the bear that has been hanging out by Flood Bridge Rd and Main Street South that has an injured front paw. We have spoken to DEEP and are working with them on how to best help this young bear.”
“We want to remind residents to put away bird food and suet's which attract bears and other wild animals close to people’s homes,” the post reads. “We are lucky to have a health bear population here in Southbury and need to be mindful of them and enjoy their beauty.
