Middlebury Elementary School Participates In Youth Uplift Challenge

The Challenge aims to inspire young children to take action on global issues by creating a symbolic object that matches with funding.

From Region 15 School District: Students at Middlebury Elementary School have been working on coloring and cutting out traced hands in the Media Center to send to Students Rebuild as part of their Youth Uplift Challenge, a program to inspire young people worldwide to connect, learn and take collective action on critical global issues.

For each hand, the Bezos Family Foundation will donate $1.90 to Save the Children’s programs, which will help children from Nicaragua and Indonesia to go to school and gain access to mentors in order to achieve their dreams.

The Challenges requires young people to create a simple, symbolic object which the foundation matches with funding. This approach allows students of all ages, backgrounds and in countries around the world to take action and see change on international concerns.
