📰 News we're reading

• CT trooper resigns after arrest for lying about hit-and-run crash, police say (nhregister.com) — A Connecticut state trooper resigned after being charged with falsely reporting a hit-and-run that she later admitted was actually a single-vehicle crash that began in Southbury. Investigators say her cruiser left the road near Exit 14, hit a pole in town, and she then drove to Danbury before calling it in. The case continues in Waterbury Superior Court later this month.

• Connecticut home sales tick up in 2025. See which towns are hot and which are not (darientimes.com) — Southbury’s housing market was one of Connecticut’s standouts last year, with home sales jumping 24% and averaging about a deal a day. Statewide, sales rose slightly and prices stayed high amid low inventory, especially for lower-priced homes. Local buyers may still face stiff competition this spring, but analysts expect 2026 to be a strong year overall.
