Police ID Southbury Woman's Remains Found In Woods

SOUTHBURY, CT — Police have identified the woman whose remains were found in the woods in Newtown last fall as a Southbury woman.

The deceased has been identified as Janet Connor, 73. Police say there is no reason to believe that her death was suspicious.

Connor's last known residence was in Southbury, but police believe she was a transient at the time of her death, according to a news release. Her remains were found near Edmond Road in Newtown on Oct. 13, 2023.

"We offer our sincere condolences to Mrs. Connor's family," police said.
