On Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 2-3:30pm on Zoom and streamed to our Kingsley Room, join us for a virtual program and learn more about classic film Psycho.

Alfred Hitchcock often called Psycho “a big joke” and was horrified to discover that audiences “were taking it seriously.” Join us as we explore Hitchcock’s singular achievement, examine how the film was made and how it continues to haunt our cultural imagination.

Brian Rose is a professor emeritus at Fordham University. He’s written several books on television history and cultural programming, and conducted more than a hundred Q&A’s with leading directors, actors, and writers for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the Screen Actors Guild, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and the Directors Guild of America.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this program is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency.
