ShopRite Of Southbury Undergoes Major Renovation
Renovations at ShopRite of Southbury include expanded fresh food, upgraded departments and energy-efficient upgrades.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Cingari Family Markets has begun renovations at the ShopRite of Southbury, a project aimed at modernizing the store and adding new features for customers.
The store, located at 775 Main Street South, will remain open throughout construction, which is scheduled mostly during overnight hours to minimize disruption. The work is expected to be completed by late fall.
“This renovation reflects our continued commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our Southbury customers,” said Thomas Cingari Sr., president and CEO of Cingari Family Markets. “We look forward to providing an upgraded shopping experience with more fresh food choices, expanded services and sustainable features.”

Renovation highlights
The remodel will expand grab-and-go meal selections, including marinated meats, seafood such as salmon and scallops, and house-made entrées and sides from the company’s private label line.
The produce and floral departments will be refreshed, with a focus on locally sourced and seasonal items. The bakery, seafood, deli, meat, dairy and frozen food sections are also slated for upgrades designed to improve customer flow and selection.

Sustainability is part of the plan as well, with new energy-efficient refrigeration and freezer units to reduce the store’s carbon footprint. Updated aisle lighting will improve visibility and convenience.
Regional investment
The project is part of a larger initiative by Cingari Family Markets to upgrade its stores across southwestern Connecticut. The company, family-owned and operated for more than 90 years, owns 10 ShopRite stores and two Cingari Family Markets in the region.
Based in Stamford, Cingari Family Markets was founded in 1929 and has been recognized as a 2024 Top Connecticut Workplace by Hearst Connecticut Media.
