Southbury Library To Host Free Virtual Program On Author F. Scott Fitzgerald

Southbury Library will offer a free program exploring F. Scott Fitzgerald's life and career.

SOUTHBURY, CT — The Southbury Public Library will host a free virtual program on author F. Scott Fitzgerald on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Led by retired college professor Dr. Bill Thierfelder, the session will examine the life and career of Fitzgerald, whose four completed novels captured the glamour and excess of the Jazz Age. While Fitzgerald enjoyed commercial success in the 1920s, his work did not receive full critical recognition until after his death in 1940.

Thierfelder, who taught arts and humanities courses for 32 years at several New York universities and colleges, including St. John’s University and Dowling College, holds a Ph.D. in English with minors in theater, art history and music history.
