Southbury Man Accused Of Criminal Impersonation, Other Violations: PD

The suspect was pulled over by Southbury police on a traffic violation.

SOUTHBURY, CT — A 54-year-old Southbury man was arrested on a charge of criminal impersonation Monday, following a motor vehicle stop, according to Southbury police.

Carl Conklin was pulled over by police at about 5:15 p.m. for an undisclosed equipment violation.

Police soon discovered that Conklin "was using a fake name and fake date of birth in an attempt to mislead Officers."

Authorities also discovered that Conklin had an outstanding arrest warrant for violation of probation.

  • Interfering with an officer
  • Improper use of marker plate
  • Operating an unregistered motor vehicle
  • Disobeying the signal of an officer

Conklin was held in lieu of bail of $4,000 and was remanded to the custody of the state Parole Division. He was scheduled to be arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court on Tuesday.
