Southbury Police Seek Public's Assistance With Stolen Motorbike Case

Police are seeking the public's assistance in their investigation of a stolen motorbike.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Police are seeking the public's assistance in their investigation of a stolen motorbike.

On Sunday morning, the owner of the blue Yamaha YZ125 dirt bike had made arrangements through Facebook Marketplace for someone to come look at it, at their Old Poverty Road residence.

At 1:30 p.m., the prospective buyer rode to the meet-up in a tan SUV, which police described as "possibly a Honda Pilot," and asked the owner to take the bike for a test drive. The owner agreed, but the man did not return with the bike. The driver of the SUV speeded away shortly after the took off right after the bike did.

Police described the man who took the motorbike as a "Hispanic male with neck and hand tattoos."

The Southbury Police Department is urging anyone with more information regarding the whereabouts of the bike to contact Officer Jaskolka at 203-264-5912. All calls will be kept confidential.
