Teen Killed In Crash On I-84 In Southbury, ID Released By State Police

The vehicle veered off the roadway and went down an embankment, officials said.

SOUTHBURY, CT — A 19-year-old Newtown resident was killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-84 in Southbury late Saturday, state police said.

At 11:55 p.m., state police responded to a crash on I-84 West, east of Exit 15.

Spencer T. Jorgenson, 19, of Newtown, was driving a 2001 Honda Prelude, traveling westbound, veered off the roadway, struck the metal beam guardrail on the right shoulder, continued through the guardrail, and went down an embankment, coming to an uncontrolled stop, state police said.

The driver sustained fatal injuries. The crash is under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 203-267-2200.
