Town of Southbury Launches Paint Recycling Program
Paint recycling is the latest in the "Go Green, Go Southbury" initiative.
Submitted by the Town of Southbury
The Town of Southbury launched its paint recycling program on September 4th and the response was overwhelming and very positive! Residents of Southbury may now dispose of their leftover, partially full cans of paint by delivering them to the Southbury Transfer Station on Kettletown Road and depositing them in the designated container. There is no drop off fee for this service.
In the first few days of this program, five containers were filled, indicating the built up demand for this type of service for disposing and recycling old paint and containers and the success of the program. “It is gratifying to know that this latest initiative of Southbury’s “Go Green, Go Southbury” program has been met with such enthusiasm,” noted First Selectman Ed Edelson. “All of these efforts help us save money and create a healthier environment.”
