Party Affiliation: Democratic Party

Occupation: Attorney

Family: I am married to a wonderful woman and have three beautiful children.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government? No

Previous public office, appointive or elective: No

Why are you seeking this office?

I have been blessed to be a volunteer/public servant for much of my adult life (from football coach to executive board member ), and would like to bring my experiences/knowledge to the Town Council to serve the citizens of Southington.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: Taxes and I intend to explore/research other means to generate additional revenue for the Town.

For example, applying for federal/state grants/funding to pay for projects, instead of using taxpayer dollars for those projects.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I have spent a lot of time working with civic and community groups, working to better communities as a whole.

This has allowed me to be an excellent communicator, attentive listener, and compassionate and effective leader.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Southington, like many other towns, has issues relating to education, roads, spending, and public safety, to name a few.

All of which I plan on working on to better stabilize for the citizens of Southington.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence that you can handle this job?

To begin, I have an undergraduate and graduate degree in political science. I also have a Juris Doctor degree.

I have been practicing law for 18 plus years, serving the public.

I have served in many positions of leadership and have completed leadership certification programs.

However, my greatest accomplishments come from my community service involvement. My membership in the NAACP, my membership with the CT Racial Profiling group, and my time as a football coach and den leader for Pack 19, just to name a few.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Not allowing your motions, whether good or bad, to get the best of you. Having an even temperament is the best policy.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I come from a family that believes in hard work and helping one’s neighbor when in need. Public service is my passion and my way to help and give back to society.

My life’s work to date makes me the right type of candidate for the town council.
