Why are you seeking this office?

It is important that we have qualified candidates in positions like our town council.

Our conditions and landscape change year to year, and it becomes more challenging to govern.

I have the background and experience to navigate these challenges through data-based decisions combined with a levelheaded approach.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: Affordability is the most pressing issue facing us all.

While this is not an issue limited to Southington, locally, we have to bear the brunt of national inflation.

Together, we must make responsible decisions while factoring in financial limitations.

Proposing realistic solutions and balanced budgets is what my teammates and I have done.

It doesn't stop there, we must also look to find ways to provide more with less by identifying inefficiencies, duplications, etc, and creating ways to leverage technology in order to do that.

This is something I have focused on for the past two years to cut costs as chair of the town's technology committee.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

Level-headed leading & Collaboration: My record highlights that I've been a leader who can facilitate complex projects with diverse groups, and I can work together with others to find solutions to problems.

Solutions must be realistic and made using relevant, accurate, and timely data, vs reactive and impulsive decision-making.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

We are actively working on the 2026 Plan of Conservation and Development that will address issues pertaining to the sustainability, development, and infrastructure of our town.

During this process, we will facilitate a thorough assessment using data trends along with resident and stakeholder input to plan for the next 10 years of Southington.

Technology will also be a focus, and identifying improvements we can make to continue to create efficiency and transparency in our town government.

Finally, open space and farm heritage will continue to be a priority so we can work to preserve what we love most about our town.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence that you can handle this job?

My record is evidence of how I can continue to provide value by representing Southington.

I hold a position as Senior VP at a national premium audit vendor where I oversee business operations.

This has given me great knowledge and experience, including strong leadership abilities as well as decision-making skills, while spending most of my time creating efficiency inside the organization.

I also hold an MBA from Quinnipiac University.

In town government, as a P&Z commissioner, I was able to work collaboratively across party lines to make responsible decisions on parcel purchases and initiatives to market open space.

I facilitated the 2016 Plan of Conservation and Development, which has guided many critical decisions in town over the past 10 years.

In 2023, I was elected to the Town Council and focused on driving efficiency in technology, preservation of Farming Heritage, and supporting our first responders.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Walk through life with your eyes open, your mind clear, and your intentions true - My Mom

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I am a Cuban American female and take great pride in our community's diversity and unique attributes.

Through my mother's example, I learned that great value comes from giving back to your community.

To honor her and to pass this example on to my own son, I look to continue to humbly serve our community.

I want to express to my fellow residents how thankful I am to have their support and this opportunity.
