“We are thrilled to be expanding Bauer in Connecticut and especially here in Bristol,” said Bauer COO Mark Auletta. “We expect this 30,000 square foot addition will result in both additional manufacturing and engineering positions.”

The company is known for its manufacturing and designing of aircraft component test equipment in both military and commercial industries. The new facility is slated to assist the company in its plans to grow from a $25 million to $50 million operation within three years.

Bauer is noted for having served the greater-Hartford area for 105 years and employs 40 engineers within its roughly 100 employees.

Borghesi Building and Engineering of Torrington completed the facility’s original building contract in February 2000 before taking on this latest one.

“I was very excited to be invited, on my second day in office, to be part of the Bauer expansion groundbreaking,” said Bristol Mayor Jeff Caggiano. “Bristol at its core is an old manufacturing town, and businesses like Bauer expanding today with high tech manufacture of airplane testing equipment that is shipped all over the world is a very promising sign for their future and new jobs in Bristol”

The mayor said that he hopes Bauer continues to expand and add more jobs within Bristol.
