Prominent Southington Orchestra To Perform Annual Winter Concert
The Southington Symphonic Band kicks off the holiday week with its annual Winter Concert at Southington High School.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Folks looking for a festive start to their holiday week activities can enjoy a special concert in Southington Monday night, Dec. 22.
That's when the Southington Symphonic Band will present its Winter Concert on Monday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m.in the Southington High School auditorium, 72 Pleasant St.
The concert will start with a performance by special guests, The Plainville Flute Ensemble.

No tickets are necessary, but donations will be accepted.
The band is planning to perform several holiday selections.

The Southington Symphonic Band, directed by former SHS band director Jeff Shaw, was
established in January 2023.
Its members include former SHS band members and band parents, local music teachers, and players from Southington and neighboring communities.
Musicians high school age or older who play a band instrument are welcome to join the
Southington Symphonic Band. There are openings in most sections.
Rehearsals will resume in January on Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Southington High School band room for the spring concert in April.
The group performs four or five concerts a year, and players can start after each concert cycle.
