The dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the restaurant at 388 Broad St. The meal will be pasta with sausage, meatballs, chicken, bread and salad. A gluten-free option will also be available.
“There is both a take-out and eat-in option for those who want to support the scholarship program and still focus on social distancing,” said Maya Bringe, president of the Bristol Historical Society.

Bringe said that proceeds will support the Bristol Historical Society’s annual $1,500 scholarship, which is awarded each year to a college-bound Bristol senior.
“In addition to academic requirements, we require that applicants write an essay about some facet of Bristol history,” said Bringe. “We’ve had some great entries over the years, with some past applicants writing about subjects like the history of Lake Compounce. It’s always interesting to see what they focused on.”
Bringe said that applications can be found on the Bristol Historical Society website, bristolhistoricalsociety.org, or in the guidance counselor offices at each local high school.
The recipient of the scholarship is usually invited to read their winning essay at the Bristol Historical Society’s Annual Dinner, which Bringe said will be held in August this year.
Bringe said she is grateful to Marilyn’s Pub for hosting the scholarship dinner as well as to the other local restaurants that have hosted it in the past.
The scholarship dinner will be $25 for adults or $15 for children under 10.
Those who wish to support the scholarship that can’t make the dinner can donate via the Bristol Historical Society website, bristolhistoricalsociety.org.
