The evening will begin with an auction preview, hors oeuvres, wine, soft drinks and a raffle at 5:30 p.m. at the Bristol Historical Society at 98 Summer St. This will be followed by a live auction at 7:30 p.m. with professional auctioneer Paul Stansel. Participants will be required to wear masks.
Bringe said that this auction is one of the Bristol Historical Society’s major fundraisers and most popular events. It is making a much-awaited return after being canceled last year due to the pandemic.

“This is our first big fundraiser since the pandemic and we’re excited to welcome people back,” she said. “People have a good time at our auction. Paul is always entertaining and keeps things moving pretty fast. Proceeds will support our general operating budget, which helps support our programs and keeps our building open.”
Bringe said that this year’s auction features a wide array of interesting items. Participants will be able to bid on antique furniture and collectible dolls as well as an engraved piece of artwork created by an artist for a three cent stamp.
“We’ll also have a Geno Auriemma gift basket, a set of O-scale Lionel trains still in box and in beautiful shape and a Pee Wee Herman ventriloquist doll,” said Bringe. “You never know what will come through our doors.”
Bringe encouraged people to come to the auction and see what treasures they can find, all while “supporting a good cause.”
Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. People can purchase tickets at the Bristol Historical Society during open hours Wednesday and Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
