City Hall Says Route 6 Being Resurfaced At Night
Project set to run through late September.

City Hall recently said the Connecticut Department of Transportation would be enacting a nighttime resurfacing of Route 6 from Sherman Street to Collins Road.

Milling operations are anticipated to continue from Aug. 24 to Sept. 15 and then paving is expected to commence Sept. 16 until Sept. 22. Drivers are asked to be cautious when driving in the prescribed area and may encounter deals as conditions change due to weather or unforeseen issues.
Temporary traffic impacts can be expected during this project,” said Councilman Peter Kelley who serves on the Public Works Board. “The good news is that the milling and paving operations have been scheduled as an overnight project, running from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.”

Work will begin at the west end of Sherman Street and on eastewards to Collins Road.
“There may be minor traffic delays during construction, however roads will remain open for emergency vehicles, and local traffic at all times,” said Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu. “Traffic control personnel and signs will be used to guide motorists through the work zone during construction.”
