Southington Car Wash Workers Detained By ICE From Guatemala: Feds
Federal officials Thursday released additional information about an ICE raid at a Southington car wash Monday, but not any names or charges.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The four men seized by federal authorities on Monday at a Southington car were illegal immigrants from Guatemala, according to federal officials.
The Hartford office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations office released additional information about the incident on Thursday afternoon.
According to ICE, its agents were joined by Internal Revenue Service investigators when agents "conducted a random worksite enforcement outreach" operation in Southington.

The operation took place at the D-Hand Car Wash in Southington at 655 Queen St., authorities said.
ICE authorities said they arrested four illegal alien employees from Guatemala.

They said they were in the United States without authorization.
The ICE statement, however, did not name the suspects, disclose the charges, or say what became of the four men.
"Ensuring compliance with federal employment laws is crucial to maintaining a fair and competitive business environment," said HSI New England Special Agent in Charge Michael J. Krol.
"Businesses, such as D-Hand, that employ unauthorized workers not only undermine the integrity of our immigration system but also gain an unfair advantage over law-abiding companies. HSI is committed to identifying and addressing these violations to protect both the legal workforce and honest businesses."
