Gas Leak Reported In Plymouth

Residents evacuate following a gas leak.

Residents in Plymouth were evacuated following a gas leak Wednesday morning.

Police shortly after 10 a.m. said the leak was reported behind the IGA Plaza, which is located at 311 Main St.

Businesses in the plaza and the adjacent McDonald’s restaurant closed as a result.

Residents who live behind the plaza were evacuated by firefighters and police.

Police also advised individuals to avoid the area, though they indicated that Route 6 was still open during the leak.

Eversource responded to the scene.

No details as to what caused the leak have been released.
