Ahmond Bond said the Bristol Polish Club houses an indoor soccer field and for many years has played host to many family-oriented soccer activities. “FundRaise Da Roof” looks to fix a leaky roof and contribute to many more years of supporting Bristol soccer endeavors.
“December 18, we’re doing the show,” said Bond. “The roof is leaking badly and we had a very wet summer. We’re trying to fix it. We have a great headliner, Marshall Brandon. His work can be seen on Netflix and Comedy Central. He’s been all over the state and country and just recently got off a tour with Dave Chapelle.”

Giancarlo Biondino, winner of the 2020 Treehouse’s Funniest Comic in Connecticut, is also anticipated to take stage with the Amazon Prime featured Artie “Big Joker” Rob. Bond will also be joining the comedy crew on the Bristol Polish Club stage, recognized by his stage name “D-Rummz.” The “Laughing Latino” Phillip Anthony will play host to the evening’s events.
“We’re going to have a good time,” said Bond.
Raffles will be held as part of the event.
“The soccer academy has been around for I believe 55 years, maybe longer,” said Bond. “It hosts a lot of the youth leagues in Bristol, especially when there is inclement weather. Any time I’ve gone by there are kids running up and down having a good time. It also houses adult leagues. It’s one of those things that if we can keep kids physical and active, we always want to support that.”
While also providing activities for area youth, the building houses the Bristol Polish Club which hosts bingos and dances for older patrons. Bond said there was also a reception area to the building which had played host to “many memories” for area residents over the years, whether they were weddings or sweet sixteen parties.
“It’s important for many in the community,” said Bond. “It’s also important for me personally because my daughter used to attend the soccer academy when she was younger. I want to keep that thing going. It’s not like they’re in jeopardy of closing, but we want to help with that roof.”
Bond said his daughter was in her late teens now, but had started playing with the academy around 11 years ago. He recently became a member of the Bristol Polish Club.
For those interested in attending the event, tickets can be purchased on the eventbrite website for $20 in advance or $25 at the door. The show starts at 8 p.m. and doors open at 7 p.m.
