Memorial Day In Southington: Details On Parade, Services Released
In addition to their annual Memorial Day parade, Southington veterans will conduct memorial services and a flag-raising ceremony on May 30.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The town of Southington has released its Memorial Day plans, and they include the annual parade, several memorial services and a flag-raising ceremony.
The town's Memorial Day parade will take place beginning at 10:30 a.m. on May 30. It will step off at Eden Avenue and end on Columbus Avenue. (A description of the full route can be found here.)
Participants are asked to form a line at Derynoski Elementary School's lower parking lot on Eden Avenue between 9:45 and 10:15 a.m.

Immediately following the parade, a ceremony honoring veterans will be held in front of the American Legion Home (64 Main St.).
And the town has other ceremonies planned for Memorial Day, as well: Southington's veteran organizations will host a joint flag-raising ceremony at the Southington Care Center at 9 a.m., and both the American Legion, Kiltonic Post 72 and the Marine Corps League will hold memorial services.

The American Legion, Kiltonic Post 72's memorial services will take place at:
- Panthorn Park (Burritt Street) at 7:30 a.m.
- Wonx Springs Cemetery (Marion Avenue) at 7:45 a.m.
- Quinnipiac Cemetery (Marion Avenue) at 8 a.m.
- Recreation Park (Southend Road) at 8:20 a.m.
- South End Cemetery (Southend Road) at 8:30 a.m.
- Immaculate Cemetery (South End Road) at 8:35 a.m.
- Orchards at Southington (Hobart Street) at 8:45 a.m.
The Marine Corps League's memorial services will take place at:
- Memorial Park (Woodruff Street) at 7:30 a.m.
- Oak Hill Cemetery (Intersection of Queens Street and Flanders Road) at 7:45 a.m.
- Holy Trinity Cemetery (Prospect Street) at 8:05 a.m.
- West Street Cemetery (West Street Extension) at 8:15 a.m.
- St. Thomas Cemetery (Meriden Avenue) at 8:35 a.m.
