In Memoriam: Dorothy Nelson Rizzi
The Southington resident passed away Dec. 5 at the age of 104.

Dorothy (Harte) Nelson Rizzi, 104, of Southington, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Bradley Memorial Hospital in Southington.
She was predeceased by two husbands, John E. Nelson and Frank S. Rizzi.

Born in Webster, MA, Dorothy was a former longtime New Britain resident until moving to Southington in 1976.
A Graduate of Marlborough, Mass High School, Dorothy attended Nashua Business College and was a employed as a secretary at Tuttle & Bailey in New Britain for 39 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Dominic Church in Southington; the church Ladies Guild; and the Southington Chapter of AARP.

Surviving are two grandchildren, Matthew Forbotnick and his wife Michele of Berlin; and Dawn Rizzi of Southington; a great-granddaughter, Adeline Forbotnick; a step-son, Atty. Martin Rizzi and his wife Aggie of Southington; a god daughter, Rosemary Brulotte of Ledyard; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husbands, she was predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Nelson Forbotnick and Michael Forbotnick; as well as four sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 10:30 AM at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Calling hours are Friday morning 9 to 10 AM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Dorothy’s family wishes to thank all of the staff at Mulberry Gardens for there loving care.
