In Memoriam: Kenneth W. DiMauro

The long-time Southington resident passed away Dec. 16 at the age of 59.

Kenneth W. DiMauro, 59, of Southington, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015.

He was the loving husband of AnnMarie (Pallotti) DiMauro for nearly 25 years.

Born in New Britain on Sept. 9, 1956 to the late Paul and Ola (Barry) DiMauro, he had been a longtime Southington resident.

Ken was a wealth of knowledge regarding the history of Southington and was willing to share it with anyone who wanted to listen. He worked as the town historian and was active in the historical society, serving as a past president. He worked at many local newspapers, including the Observer, Record Journal and the Middletown Press.

In addition to his wife AnnMarie, he is survived by his mother-in-law Patricia Pallotti of Plantsville and 3 sisters-in-law: Angela Forshaw and her husband Brian of Waterford; Annette Vose and her husband Larry of Plantsville and Andrea Welch of East Berlin. He was the loving “Uncle Ken” to his several nieces and nephews and one great-niece and one great-nephew. He is also survived by his faithful dog Bosco and was predeceased by his brother James DiMauro.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 21, at 9 a.m. from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 20, from 2-5 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory may be made to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville, CT 06479 or to the Abbey of Regina Laudis, 273 Flanders Rd., Bethlehem, CT 06751.
