In Memoriam: Lucille E. Palmer
The former Southington resident passed away Feb. 21 at the age of 96.

Lucille Evelyn (Jones) Palmer, 96, of Newington, formerly of Southington died on February 21, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of the late Oliver W. Palmer.
She was born and raised in New Britain, she was a graduate of The Teachers College of Connecticut, and in 1941 began a long and enjoyable career in teaching.
After marriage, while raising three sons, her main focus was on their education. She was proud of and encouraged their accomplishments. In spare moments she could be found knitting, quilting, gardening or reading. She was a loving mother, grandmother, devoted wife, and cherished friend.
Lucille is survived by three sons, Bruce Palmer of Albany NY, Robert Palmer and wife Pamela of Plymouth, MA, and Richard Palmer and wife Barbara of Burlington, grandchildren Dr. Nathan Palmer, Andrew Palmer, Jonathan Palmer, and Sarah Bartlett, one very precious great-grandson Ryan, and Rae Ann Palmer of Truro, MA.
Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington is assisting the family with arrangements.
