Mountain Of Cereal Donated By Southington School
The Southington school hosted an end-of-year cereal drive for the local food pantry before departing for summer vacation.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Before students and staff at DePaolo Middle School in Southington broke for summer vacation earlier this month, they did a little good for the community.
Judging by the sheer quantity of what was collected, they did a lot of good.
Before departing, the school, which is located at 385 Pleasant St., hosted an end-of-year cereal drive to benefit the Southington Food Pantry.

Well, mission accomplished.
According to Southington Community Services, the school's staff and pupils collected 750 pounds of crunchy breakfast goodness.

A staple of childhood breakfasts for generations, cereal can get expensive, especially with ongoing inflation problems.
Enter DePaolo, whose generous community came through, according to Southington Community Services.
"All of these boxes will go a very long way in keeping our shelves stocked. Thank you to everyone who made this wonderful donation possible," wrote the department.
