Representatives of the Mum Festival Committee and Bristol Exchange Club said they are excited to see this year’s Mum Festival Car Show and that the event would be held in honor of Jim Foote.

Foote was previously the Mum Festival Car Show chair. The show will be held Sept. 25.
“Jim Foote gave his heart and soul to revamping the Mum Festival Car Show and building it into one of our most successful attractions,” said Mum Festival General Chair Jack Ferraro. “We unfortunately lost Jim to covid this past year, and words cannot describe what the loss meant to us as individuals and as a Mum Festival Committee.”

Ferraro continued by saying that the committee hopes to honor Jim's legacy by holding the event under the guidance of Jim’s wife, Bev, and the support of Team Bristol. Bev asked if she could be the chair and Ferarro said the committee was honored to have her.
The car show is slated to be held from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Bristol Health parking lot due in part to the Mum Festival’s move to Centre Square. Organizers said they have room for a few hundred vehicles and may display their vehicles by contacting Bev Foote at 860-585-0625 or emailing beexchangeclub@yahoo.com.
Gates to the event will open at noon and a $10 fee is asked for participating vehicles. Prizes, raffles and drawings are slated for the event and money raised will benefit a child abuse prevention organization.
“Jimmy would be happy to see the car show live on as part of the Mum Festival,” said Bev as the car show’s chair. “He meant so much to so many people, and this is a great way to pay tribute to his passion for cars and to his contribution to our city. I will be presenting a special trophy in memory of Jimmy, so I hope to see his car friends participate as we gather to celebrate his special love for antique and vintage cars.”
