No Close Shaves for Southington Police

Officers are participating in 'No Shave November' to raise money for cancer research.

If Southington Police officers are looking a bit scruffy instead of having their usually clean-shaven faces, there’s a good reason for it.

The employees of the Southington Police Department are participating in a ‘No Shave November’ event to benefit cancer research.

Department members who donate $100 to the Saint Francis Foundation care of the Curtis D. Robinson Center for Health Equity, are allowed to forgo the department’s no beard grooming policy until Nov. 30. These employees are growing their facial hair in support of this great cause.

All money collected will be presented to the Curtis D. Robinson Center for health Equity/Saint Francis Foundation. The presentation will take place at the Southington Police Department in the community room at 2 p.m. Nov. 30.

Members of the community, who wish to sponsor a specific employee or simply donate to this cause, can bring a check written to the Saint Francis Foundation to the police department. Donations will also be accepted on the Saint Francis Foundation web site under the Donation tab for the Southington Police Department No Shave November event.
