Pot Sale Charges Lodged Against Southington Resident
Southington Police say they conducted two 'controlled purchases' of marijuana from the suspect and then obtained arrest warrants.

A 24-year-old Southington man is facing drug sale charge following an investigation by the Southington Police Special Investigations Unit.
According to police, the unit received information last August that the suspect was selling marijuana in town.
Based on this information, two controlled purchases of marijuana were made from the suspect, according to a police report. Following the purchases, police obtained arrest warrants for the suspect.

It was about 11 a.m. on Jan. 16, Andrew Pelto, 24, of Homedale Avenue,, surrendered at police headquarters after being informed about the warrants, police said.
Pelto was charged with two counts of sale of marijuana and was held on $100,000 bond until his arraignment Jan. 19 in state Superior Court in Bristol.

Pelto was released after posting $40,000 bond and scheduled to return to court Feb. 17, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.
