Five things to help you plan your day on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.

Good morning from Southington Patch! Today is Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.

1.
It's PTO night! Several parent-teacher organizations across the district will meet tonight including those at Derynoski Elementary, Flanders Elementary and Plantsville Elementary.

2. Members of the Board of Finance will meet tonight for a special workshop with an eye on the town's financial policies. The meeting will be held in the council chambers at Southington Town Hall starting at 7 p.m.

3. So your child is in middle school - now what? Southington Youth Services will help answer that question Thursday with a special program at the Southington Municipal Center, beginning at 7 p.m. For more information, click here.

4. Meanwhile, at Southington Public Library, the town will host a special outreach program for SNAP and HUSKY Health Services on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. To register or for more information, click the link provided or call the reference/information department (860) 628-0947 ext. 5.

5. In Case You Missed It: Area hospitals including the Hospital of Central Connecticut at Bradley Memorial has joined forces with hospitals throughout the state in an effort to move forward in creating a state-of-the-art cancer center collaborative. For more, click the link provided.
