Southington Library's Adult Summer Reading Program Has International Flair
Folks are invited to enjoy one of the library's many summer reading program events, as well as play a game of 'reading bingo.'
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Public Library's beloved adult summer reading program has an international flair this year with its theme 'Color Our World.'
In addition to a summer-long bingo game card involving people's reading lists, which can be turned in for prizes, 'Color Our World' also has a summer full of programs and events with that theme.
As for the summer reading bingo game at the library, which is located at 255 Main St., Southington, here's how it works:

- Participants pick up an adult summer reading bingo card at the reference desk.
- They then complete an entire row, column, or diagonal on the bingo card.
- Players then put the completed bingo card in the box at the reference desk.
- If folks like it, they can collect another bingo card and try again.
- Participants may complete as many bingo cards as they like, but they can only win once.
- Bingo cards can be submitted between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 8.
Winners will be notified by email or phone Friday, Aug. 16th. Should a prize not be picked up by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, another winner will be selected.

The next 'Color Your World' event is 'Starry Night Doodle,' inspired by Van Gogh’s famous painting, Starry Night.
Here, participants can create a doodle doppelganger with lines, patterns and color.
It will be led by Debby Reelitz, an experienced calligrapher with 25 years as a professional lettering artist.
'Starry Night Doodle' is on Friday, June 20, at 1 p.m. For more information on this free program,click on this link.
