Southington Man Killed After Vehicle Crashes Into Rocks In Middlebury: Police

The 39-year-old Plantsville resident died after being rushed to the hospital Thursday morning.

MIDDLEBURY/SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Southington man was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 84 in Middlebury Thursday morning.

According to Connecticut State Police, the victim was identified as Jeffrey Paul Lepage, 39, of Burritt Street in the Plantsville section of Southington.

State police at Troop A in Southbury said Lepage was driving a 2023 Subaru Legacy on I-84 West in the left lane of two in Middlebury.

Police said, "for an unknown reason," the Subaru veered into the left lane into the median grass embankment and struck large rocks located there at about 9:47 a.m.

Lepage was rushed to Waterbury Hospital via Middlebury Ambulance, but he would succumb to his injuries, police said.

The accident is under investigation.
