Southington Nonprofit Awarded Thousands In Grant Money
A New Britain-based foundation has announced a group of grant recipients — and a Southington organization made the list.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington's Lewis Educational Agriculture Farm has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, officials announced.
The farm was awarded a "Community & Economic Development" grant from the Georgia Knapp Thomson and Stanley and Bernice Shepard Funds. It will use the money to support its programming, the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain said in a news release.
In its recent round of grants, the foundation also awarded the American Red Cross of Connecticut a $5,000 "Health & Human Services" grant from the Johnstone Vance Memorial Fund. The money will support its Disaster Cycle Services program in Southington, New Britain, Plainville and Berlin.
