Southington PD Seeks Experienced Cops In Hiring Push
The SPD recently swore in two certified police officers to join its ranks, part of an ongoing campaign to hire experienced law enforcers.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The local police department recently welcomed two new police officers within its ranks, and, because they're experienced, they can quickly hit the beat.
Last week, the Southington Police Department swore in Donald Savage and John Terray to the force, both having extensive law enforcement experience.
The department is still actively hiring officers who are already certified, a move that will save the town money in terms of training, and it will ensure new officers can start serving quicker.

According to the SPD, Savage has been an officer for both the Waterbury Police Department and the Bristol Police Department.
"We’re grateful for his dedication to public safety and look forward to his contributions to our community," wrote the SPD.

The department is also actively recruiting certified police officers to make the transition to Southington, even posting on social media an open call.
"Join a department that values community policing and invests in its officers. Your experience matters here, and we'll recognize it from day one," wrote the SPD.
