Southington Woman Charged in Heroin Sales Case

Police arrested Shannon D'Amico last week after an investigation found she was allegedly selling heroin and marijuana through the community late last year.

A Southington woman is facing charges after detectives said an investigation revealed she had allegedly sold heroin and marijuana to buyers in the community late last year.

Officers served a warrant on Shannon D’Amico, of 165 Jude Lane in Southington, last week after completing the investigation into drug sales in December 2012. D’Amico, 43, was arraigned in Bristol Superior Court on charges of sale of a controlled substance and sale of narcotics.

She remains in state custody in lieu of $75,000 in court set bonds, according to records available through the state’s judicial website.

Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz said in a press release that detectives with the Southington Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team received information regarding alleged sales that took place in December 2012.

“The department received information that Shannon D'Amico was selling marijuana and heroin within the town of Southington. An investigation was conducted into the allegation and probable cause was developed for an arrest warrant,” Dobratz said. “No further arrests are expected in connection with this case.”

Further details of the investigation weren’t immediately available.
