Southington's Youth Volunteers Enjoy Successful Summer
Southington's town manager praised youths associated with Southington Youth Services' YETI program for beautifying the town this summer.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local youths affiliated with a special Southington Youth Services program have already had a very successful summer.
According to Southington Town Manager Alex Ricciardone, the department's YETI program (Youth Empowerment Team Initiative) "has been busy making a difference in the community."
This volunteer effort has resulted in many beautification and renovation projects in town over the summer.

According to the town manager, here's what they've done:
• Painted the storage shed at Memorial Park.

• Refreshed dugouts at Memorial Little League and Senior League fields.
• Painted picnic tables and railings at Panthorn Park and downtown.
• Maintained planters in downtown Plantsville.
• Painted the shed at Bread for Life, built planters, cleaned the fence, reorganized the pantry.
• Painted the gazebo on the green, electrical boxes, and community advertisement board.
• Assisted Early Childhood Education: organized the office, cleaned chairs, vacuumed, built a storage shelf, broke down boxes, and organized toy kits.
Said Ricciardone: "Thank you to our Southington students in the YETI program for their hard work and dedication in keeping our community beautiful this summer."
