Stavros Pizza & Restaurant Rapidly Becoming A Popular Destination

Stavros Pizza & Restaurant is a new family restaurant in town that is rapidly becoming popular for its savory and delightful pizza creations.

Owner Stavros Theocharous opened the restaurant in April. He immigrated to the United States from Greece in 2018. He first worked in his uncle’s pizza restaurant in Hartford. He met his wife working there, and they decided to start their own pizza restaurant in Plainville.

Theocharous said at first, only he and his wife ran the restaurant, and they worked there all day every day it was open. But now that the restaurant is getting more and more popular, he has hired more staff.

“It’s getting busier every weekend,” Theocharous said.

Theocharous said customers love his food, especially the pizza.

“They say we do a very good job, especially on the pizza… I’ve had customers in their 50s, 60s say it was the best pizza they’ve ever had,” Theocharous said.

Theocharous said he partially follows his uncle’s pizza recipe, but he has added elements to make it his own. He said he has improved the recipe since the restaurant first opened.

Stavros Pizza & Restaurant also serves salads, which Theocharous said are served in large portions. He said their most popular salad is the cobb salad, which was a recent menu addition.

“Since we added it, we’ve had to have someone making cobb salad all the time,” Theocharous said.

Stavros Pizza & Restaurant is located at 962 Pine St. in Plainville. It is open from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. It is closed on Monday.
