Vote For Southington Western Baseball League In D'Angelo Giveaway

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington Western Baseball League could win $10,000 in a giveaway program run by D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches.

Through its $55K Neighborhood Giveaway program, the chain is donating $10,000 each to five community organizations. And the baseball league, which officials said "instills the love of baseball and the importance of good sportsmanship in youths' lives," is in the running.

The league entered the contest in partnership with the Southington D'Angelo shop, and patrons can vote for it from today through July 24. (The league was chosen as a contestant by employees at the restaurant.)

The D'Angelo restaurants that receive the highest number of votes as of June 27, July 5, July 11, July 18 and July 25 will be deemed the weekly winners, and they will award a $10,000 donation to their partner organizations.

Community members can vote for the Southington D'Angelo and Southington Youth Baseball League on the company's website or by scanning a QR code at the restaurant.

Patrons can vote once per day, and each person who votes will be entered into one of five drawings for $1,000, with winners chosen the same day as the winning restaurants.

The five $1,000 prizes means D'Angelo will give out $55,000 in total, in honor of the company's 55th year in business, officials said.

"Our restaurants have always been based in community, and we're thrilled to launch a program that ultimately donates $55,000 to neighborhoods that have supported us for decades," Tom Sterrett, president and CEO of D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches, said in a statement. "This Giveaway provides a great opportunity not only for guests to rally behind their community organizations and enter for a chance to win $1,000, but for D'Angelo to continue its tradition of giving back to the neighborhoods we're so proud to serve."
