Good morning, South Windsor! Today is Monday, Sept. 23, 2013; there are 99 days left in the year.
I hate parades. HATE. THEM.
I consider them to be a supreme waste of time and energy, not to mention that they are just an hour-long traffic snarl.

I lived in Chicago for a year, and there was literally a parade for every conceivable occasion. And, invariably, I’d get caught behind one trying to cross into the loop.

So it’s no small thing for me to say that the parade in South Windsor for the volunteer fire department’s 75th anniversary was amazing.
No foolin’, it was one long procession of awesome.

1. A town planning and zoning commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
2. The South Windsor Board of Education meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.
3. The economic development commission meets tonight at 7:30 p.m.
4. The South Windsor Public Library is hosting a volunteer appreciation night on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
