The following is a press release:

Autism Families CONNECTicut (AFC) will host its fourth annual fundraising event, "A Sparkling Celebration" on Saturday, March 23 at The Clubhouse at Gillette Ridge Residences, Bloomfield, from 7 to 10 p.m. The event will benefit AFC’s recreational, social and family activities for children living with autism and their families.

The Celebration will feature catered food and wine, Champagne and desserts, and exciting live and silent auction items. The Honorary Chair of the event is Tizziana Weber, Director of Communications at Pratt & Whitney, while the presenting sponsor is Pratt & Whitney.

"All funds raised during this event stay in our community, and benefit local programs to provide exercise,  recreation and friendship to children with autism who are often unable to participate in more mainstream activities,” said Leah Bailey Moon, AFC Board President.

AFC provides needs-driven, sensory-friendly programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families, including the popular Playing on the Spectrum gym and sports program, Group Music Therapy classes, Running Club, Swimming on the Spectrum instruction, Teen Social Nights and the annual Family Holiday Party.  All programs are designed to meet the unique needs of children with autism, and emphasize fun, exercise, and the opportunity to CONNECT to other children, families, and the community.

The organization serves many children with its programs in South Windsor, Tolland and West Hartford. The Honorary Chair, Tizziana Weber, is a South Windsor resident.
