Costco South Windsor Will Open Next Month; Ribbon-Cutting Planned

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Costco has set a date for the opening of its South Windsor location: Tuesday, Nov. 16.

Officials will celebrate the store's opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:45 a.m., before doors open to the public at 8 a.m.

Costco is located at 1220 Tamarack Avenue, South Windsor — close to Evergreen Walk.

Anyone interested in enrolling in a Costco membership prior to the store's opening can sign up at the store's temporary location: 100 Evergreen Way, Suite 108. The location is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Those who sign up for a membership on Costco's website here and enroll in auto renewal will receive a $20 Costco Shop Card as a new executive member or a $10 Costco Shop Card as a Gold Star Member.

Construction on the new store began in April, the Hartford Courant reported. The store is approximately 163,000 square feet and includes a gas station, according to the newspaper.

"Costco is already widely known for its policies of strong salaries for workers, with its starting pay at many stores at $16, well above the minimum wage," State Sen. Saud Anwar, D-South Windsor, told the Courant.
