FedEx Employees Stole Phones From Distribution Center: Police
South Windsor police arrested two FedEx distribution center workers after security saw them taking smartphones from a shipping box.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Two FedEx distribution center employees have been arrested after FedEx security observed them stealing smartphones from a shipping box on their conveyor belt, police said.
Twenty phones were taken in total, valuing around $8,000, according to the South Windsor Police Department.
Police arrested Simon M. Muriithi, 18, of South Windsor, and Tyshawn Thomas, 19, of East Hartford at around 8:57 p.m. Tuesday.

Each was charged with third-degree larceny, processed and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond, police said.
Muriithi and Thomas are scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Nov. 3 at 9 a.m.
